Edward Kacal, CFM, FMP, SFP

With more than 35 years of experience in engineering, project execution, and business management, Edward Kacal has led major transformation initiatives across industries. His work spans mergers and acquisitions, business transformation projects, plant & equipment, and IT projects.

He is an IFMA-Qualified Instructor for the full suite of IFMA courses and previously spent seven years lecturing in Project Management and Strategic Planning at the post graduate level at the University of the West Indies.

Within IFMA, Edward has served in multiple leadership roles, including Immediate Past President and current Chair of Professional Development for the IFMA Business Community (BIZ), Past Chair of the Audit Committee and Secretary of the Manufacturing, Industrial and Logistics Council. 

Beyond IFMA, he has chaired the Facility Development & Management Committee of the Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the past eight years. His leadership in national facility management has included appointments as Chair of the National Mirror Committee to ISO 41000/TC 267, a member of the Cabinet-appointed committee for the national FM policy, contributor to the NTA FM competency standards, and participant in the National Council for Sustainable Development (Working Group #3 – Improving the Local Environment).

Since 2013, Edward has served as CEO of Servus Limited, a company specializing in integrated facility and project management.

Nicholas C. Alves, CFM , FMP

Nicholas Alves is a facility management professional and entrepreneur in the industry, with over 18 years of experience managing residential, commercial, and industrial facilities across Trinidad and Tobago. Nicholas is the Founder and Operations Director of NAMCS Ltd, a growing facility management company focused on delivering premium management, maintenance, and operational support services to residential communities and commercial clients, overseeing large-scale residential operations, capital improvement projects, contractor management, and long-term asset planning.

He holds an Associate Degree in Building and Civil Engineering and IFMA’s FMP and CFM certifications. Throughout his career, Nicholas has developed expertise in facilities operations, preventive maintenance strategy, project management, vendor oversight, community management, and operational leadership.

Passionate about advancing the facility management profession within the Caribbean, Nicholas is committed to promoting best practices, mentoring emerging professionals, and helping organizations recognize the strategic value of facility management as a critical driver of operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

Trella Charles

Trella Charles is a versatile financial operations individual with over 20 years of experience driving organizational success. She was the Accounts Clerk and is now a Facilities Technician at Facilities Consulting Ltd. Grenada where she expertly bridged the gap between financial integrity and operational efficiency by managing everyday facilities operations alongside corporate financial reporting.

Trella specializes in simultaneously managing end-to-end projects, asset registers, and full-cycle accounting processes. She holds deep competencies in accounts payable/receivable, budget tracking, and both reactive and preventative maintenance. Backed by IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential and advanced training in Human Resource Management, Trella focuses on maximizing workplace efficiency, maintaining compliance, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships, an achievement that earned her the February 2026 Employee of the Month award.

Richard Gunpat, FMP, CFM, SFP

Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago

Richard Gunpat is a seasoned executive, consultant, thought leader and volunteer with over 20 years of experience in facility management, engineering, project management, aviation and sustainability. He currently serves as ISC Global Chair and has contributed to several global IFMA initiatives, including the CFM exam, SFP program, and the CFM Competency Model. His current volunteer roles outside of IFMA includes LEED Version 5 in Building Design and Construction development; member of ASHRAE’s Conference and Expositions Committee and the Certified Decarbonization Professional Exam sub-committee member.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and a wide range of respected industry credentials, including IFMA’s FMP, CFM, and SFP; PMI’s PMP and ACP; GBCI’s LEED AP BD+C; HPBOP, EDGE Expert and ASHRAE’s BCxP.

Richard’s stellar and unparallel volunteer work giving back to the IFMA Foundation Eric Teicholz SFP Scholarship Program has positioned him as a world class leader and he inspires many young FM professionals globally seeking sustainability in FM as a career of choice.

Cindy Guevara

Cindy Guevara is a resourceful, versatile, and committed facility professional who has a great passion for advancing the FM profession. Her career in Facility and Corporate Services Management spans over 25 years as she worked through the ranks, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience in operations and maintenance management.

Cindy's versatility has seen her undertake many different roles at locally and internationally based organizations, spanning areas such as accounting, administration, purchasing, security services, project management, and health and safety.  As the Facilities Coordinator at the Office of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, Cindy holds a BSc in Management from the University of the West Indies, an MBA with specialization in Supply Chain Management from Anglia Ruskin University, and is a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) with The International Facility Management Association (IFMA).

A consummate professional, a strong believer in continuous improvement, and possessing an internal drive to deliver, Cindy’s vision is to see the FM profession and professionals grow within the local and regional industries and be more recognized as a strategic and necessary component in an organization’s strategic planning and objectives. This internal drive has led her to become a part of the TTIFMA Executive where she can contribute further to the development of the profession.
